    Auchentoshan American Oak

From the Auchentoshan distillery in the Scottish Lowlands comes a triple distilled single malt Scotch whisky aged entirely in first fill American oak casks. A light, bright whisky with plenty of vanilla sweetness at its centre - great as an aperitif dram.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

    Nose

Oranges and lemons, toffee chunks and milk chocolate. Wafts of grassy air and clotted cream.

    Palate

Bounty bars, more citrus peels and peaches. A little bit buttery, with golden barley and oak spice developing on the mid palate.

    Finish

Lasting notes of grapefruit and toffee pennies.

Good whisky if your new to the Whisky world

I'm new to the world of whisky and this is my 1st single malt I've Purchased I can't go into depth about tasting notes as my palette is underdeveloped however I will say if your new to whisky and want to try a reasonably priced single malt I highly recommend giving this a go. It's smooth, creamy and a great sipper.

    Well priced pleasant enough malt.

Not sure where the “bitter” comments come from. For me it’s a decent malt at a reasonable price. Certainly not my favourite but a pleasant easy drinker.

    Poisonous

Totally revolting. Sour, bitter, sharp, fiery. Undrinkable. The only thing I can think of to do with it would be to add only a tiny bit at a time to Coca-Cola. Or to tip it away.

so,so-beginners single malt designed for the younger palate and budget

not bad ,but not great-for the price it is ok-but probably wont buy again.

It is in the name: OAK!

There are almost oak splinters in the thing! The first two drinks were a bit bitter, but like pretty much all single malts, it decants into another scotch. This scotch opens up to an oaky, buttery, peppery masterpiece. It belongs in your scotch bar. Their 12 is also worthy: polite, warm, and wonderful!!!
