Single Malt
Auchentoshan
From the Auchentoshan distillery in the Scottish Lowlands comes a triple distilled single malt Scotch whisky aged entirely in first fill American oak casks. A light, bright whisky with plenty of vanilla sweetness at its centre - great as an aperitif dram.
Oranges and lemons, toffee chunks and milk chocolate. Wafts of grassy air and clotted cream.
Bounty bars, more citrus peels and peaches. A little bit buttery, with golden barley and oak spice developing on the mid palate.
Lasting notes of grapefruit and toffee pennies.
It tastes like it sat in bourbon barrels? Nose: sharp, sweet, caramel Taste: mellow, nutty, with a robust/harsh finish
Well, it's whisky (according to the label).
I love malt whisky! I compare the taste, texture, bouquet, and of course the price etc and have concluded that I have a craving for Clydebank’s finest American Oak!!
First time I have had it and it is my new favorite single malt! Smooth and delicious!
I bought this on offer and to me, American Oak says it all. Far more cheap bourbon than scotch. Harsh, ethanol filled and burning. Not one for me.
