From the Lowland-based Auchentoshan distillery comes this impressive single malt. Distilled in October 2007, the whisky spent 14 years resting in a single ex-bourbon cask until bottling in May 2022. Independently released by House of MacDuff, a total of 297 bottles join The Golden Cask series.
Grassy malt, creamy vanilla, and toasted oak, with a helping of dried orange and lemon peels.
Drying spice and more zesty citrus lead the way before oily walnuts and charred apricot join. Warming oak spice and hints of floral barley tangle beneath.
Things stay spicy, mellowed by oaken vanilla, salted caramel, and floral tea.
