The sought-after first chapter of three devilish, lightly peated Arran single malts. Released in 2012, it was drawn from 3x 1996 vintage sherry butts, 6x 1996 bourbon barrels, 2x 1997 sherry butts, 8x 1998 sherry hogsheads, and 5x peated 2006 bourbon barrels. 6,660 bottles were brought forth.
This bottle was part of a private collection - if you'd like more detailed photos just get in touch!
Savoury wood spice, caramelised pears, biscuit, dried grass and tropical fruit.
More fruit, vanilla, allspice and smoke emerging beneath the surface.
Rich caramel, a lick of gentle phenols, hints of blackcurrant and cinnamon.
Lightly peated, plenty of Arran character, highly enjoyable.
