This is the first batch of cask strength Machrie Moor from the Arran distillery. The Machrie Moor releases comprise of peated single malt from the Island distillery, delivering a hearty core of peat smoke to their whisky. For the cask strength edition, this bold single malt has been bottled at 58.4% ABV and is limited to 6,000 bottles worldwide. It's named after the mystical peat bog on the western part of Arran, which is strewn with standing stones.
A robust nose, packed with dried pineapple, dark chocolate and punchy peat. Hints of baking bread too.
Chewy vanilla toffees, citrus and a subtle grassy character. Peat smoulders and develops throughout, the extra strength adding bit of BBQ char to the palate.
Fresh fruits and final wisps of smoke.
