Arran's The Bothy single malt has joined the Island distillery's permanent range! Matured initially in first-fill ex-bourbon barrels, this expression is finished for two years in quarter casks, which are much smaller than your average run-of-the-mill cask. Finally, it's bottled at a generous 56.2% ABV.
Honeyed malt balanced by oaky spice and a whiff of bright citrus.
Coconut and almond, followed by apricot and pineapple. Black pepper and menthol.
Lingering cherry and cinnamon on the finish.
Excellent whisky if you give it some time, add water generously and its magnificent
I really didn't like this whisky. The wood influence is way too dominant. All I'm getting is very dry wood. Huge disappointment, and I usually like Arran.
