Arran Barrel Reserve

An entirely bourbon-matured bottle of Arran single malt! After its distillation on the eponymous island, Barrel Reserve is matured exclusively in first-fill bourbon barrels, bottled at 43% ABV and presented in this rather handsome glass vessel (otherwise known as a bottle).

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose Fresh grass sweetness, lemon tart, biscuity malt and tart apple skin.

Palate Malty, with Curiously Cinnamon cereal, vanilla fudge and green apple alongside a faint sea breeze.

Finish Vanilla oak and lots of aromatic spice, with salted caramel and a handful of orchard fruit.

Reviews for Arran Barrel Reserve
Perfect Gift
Bought this as a gift for my Brother to try something different. The bottle came by courier withing 2 days so a really good start! Have since heard it has an amazing taste - so smooth but a nice kick at the same time. Perfect!

A very pleasant dram
I tasted this for the first time at the Edinburgh Whisky Experience. I have never tried an Arran Whisky before and liked it so bought a bottle. It's a light whisky, quite soft, with a hint of citrus and a light smoky flavour. Great service and prompt delivery from Master of Malt.

Add a splash of water to bring out the sweetness in this one
Never tried Arran whisky before and was a bit worried it would be Smokey. But it’s just as advertised- citrus and sweet. I found it a bit fiery neat but adding just a splash of water really opened it up, and while losing some aroma the taste then matched what it smells like out of the bottle. Can’t believe the price on this one either - cheaper than my all-time favourite Edradour. Will defo be buying this one again.

Apple Juice and Citrus flavours
I had a 5cl miniature bottle of this Arran in a home made box of 24 assorted miniatures for the Christmas run in. Was looking forward to trying it having previously had a full bottle of the Arran Cask Finish. This American Oak Barrel finish is truly excellent though. Really get the Citrus flavours and nose and smooth as the day is long, smells more like apple juice than Whisky, an absolute Snip at around £30. I'll definitely be getting a bottle. Highly recommended 👌

A place in my cabinet
A great find from my local whisky shop. Like other reviewers, I purchased this on a whim. Very surprised, there will be a bottle in my cabinet. Very crisp, a bit tart but a nice "neat" dram.

I might have found a new favourite
Bought this today on a whim and it didn't dissapoint. Unbelievably good for the price, smooth, goes down way to easily! Summery, as the reviewer below says, but it's warming me from the inside right now on a cold winter's evening.

Great summer dram or for something fruity but green apple fresh.
Arrans new no age statement barrel reserve this drop is delicious, sweet lemony nose and green apples its taste is fresh vanilla but green apples and tart fruits with a hint of barrel spice. Non chill filtered and not colored I have nothing but respect for this Distillery.

Lovely little dram, nothing dramatic, superb.
Very light, for something at 43% , refreshing even, citrus but delicate, with a nice finish.
