The 2010 released Amarone finish from Arran. This has a similar style to the brilliant Sassicaia finish. Amarone is dry Italian red made using partially dried Corvina grapes, Rondinella grapes and Molinara.
Very nice for pink whisky. The colour suits the flavour perfectly. Quite soft on the nose but the flavour is more intense, with chocolate-covered cherry, honeydew melon, and lots of sea salt. The medium finish is rather dry.
