Officially launched in 2006, this 10 year old lies at the heart of the Isle of Arran range and exudes all the honeyed richness we have come to associate with the island distillery.
Herbal, biscuity, hedgerow greenness and dried grass, like a long English summer's afternoon.
Sweet. Quite malty, digestive biscuits, followed by green fruits and Cox's apple peel.
Slightly bitter, maltiness.

as someone always trying new expressions i gave this a shot after reading positive reviews, but not expecting too much at the price, but really am astounded at just how good, balanced & tasty it is, and I can't see where any of the negative reviews come from. In a way i dont like posting too good a review, as the more popular a scotch is the less supply there becomes, and the price shoots up (just like when i used to buy the old glendronach revival cheaply lol), but the arran 10 deserves recognition, and as an everyday scotch i love it
Great dram for the money . Could do with a few more % but still it's a lovely dram for the money . The bottle I opened has a huge amount of bourbon vanilla on the finish .
Taste is subjective, and if smokey and peaty is your thing then this won't knock your socks off... But for a sweeter, honey and vanilla whisky this is absolutely lovely and so easy to drink. For the price its pound-for-pound the best I've tried
I’m now onto my third bottle of the Arran 10 year old…. It’s probably my favourite whiskey. I know taste is subjective and not everyone will like the same flavours but to me this is how a whiskey should taste. I was half tempted to give it a negative review as I find when a whiskey becomes popular the price shoots up… however I couldn’t deprive others of such a fantastic whiskey at such a good price,… if you’re unsure, get the fella bought! You won’t regret it!
I wanted to like this but I have struggled to enjoy it at all, it has a wee bit of a sulphur taint along with some pleasant fruit notes on the nose, it goes very wrong in the mouth, the sour sulphur note is enormously amplified on the palate and long into the finish. Arran needs to reassess whoever selects their sherry casks and their quality control as you cannot charge this amount of money for this poor quality. Poured the remainder down the sink and that is the first time I have ever done that with any single malt whisky. I would hope that this was a poor batch and Arran don’t have a load of this rubbish maturing in there warehouse. BEST AVOIDED!!!
