    The Ardmore Legacy

Released in 2014 to take the place of the Ardmore Traditional, the Legacy brings a lightly-peated, wood spice-led flavour profile to the table. At its core, the Ardmore Legacy is made with 80% peated and 20% unpeated malt.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

    Nose

It leans more on the savoury than the sweet side of things, with light barbecue char and earthy notes up-front. Sweet cinnamon, fresh honey and vanilla toffee waft up at points.

    Palate

More charred, smoky notes, joined by drying oak, pear drops and subtle grassy touches. Give it a minute for citrus zest and expressive heather to appear.

    Finish

A lasting peat smoke finish, with a little bit of honey'd barley for good measure.

    Very drinkable

This is excellent value and easy drinking. There's a really dynamic nose and palate here for a relatively low cost. Great whisky.

    Decent whisky

It will never be my favourite whisky, but Tesco had it twice on offer for £20 and for that price it is an excellent value. I am not a big fan of peaty whiskies and find Speysides often too quaffable and this right in the middle of them.

    Enjoyable- with water?!

Not normally a fan of adding water or ice to my single malts, but someone suggested this, and I must admit it changes it significantly. Can't say I prefer it to neat, but it is QUITE different. Those on here who are not keen might try it that way, and find a better, more acceptable taste. I am savouring it right now, and enjoying it. The nose doesn't change to me, but the flavour on the tongue is a v different thing. As previous reviewer said, for £20 in Tesco - q decent. Depends on what you want - peat lovers will say it's weak. Speyside fans might view it as strong. I tend more speyside-ish, so the peat 'easing' is maybe preferable.

    not bad for 20 quid

I was in tesco and seen this for 20 quid as a staunch talisker man I thought I would give this a try and I am pleased to say I don't regret it nice smoke and spice just like the talisker not saying it's in the same league as the talisker 10 year old but certainly better than the skye and storm which in my opinion are an embarrassment to the talisker name. Well worth 20 quid
