    Single Malt

Ardmore 13 Year Old 2008 (cask 1900001) - Benchmark (Murray McDavid)

Single malt Scotch from Ardmore, distilled in 2008 and matured in a single bourbon hogshead, before finishing in a Moor Beer stout cask! After 13 years, the whisky was independently bottled by Murray McDavid for its Benchmark series. The creamy malt character from the stout cask mingles happily with the classic earthen smoke notes of Ardmore's whisky – this ought to be an ideal dram to enjoy after a nice glass of craft beer.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

    Nose

Smoky barbecue sauce, a drizzle of manuka honey, and a touch of flint.

    Palate

Hefty oak char with plenty of earthen smoke and oily, nutty malt. A lift of citrus zest balances grassy peat.

    Finish

Dried fruits linger, with creamy barley and savoury spice in tow.
