    Ardbeg Uigeadail

This stunning expression from Islay's Ardbeg distillery on the Kildalton Coast is named after a nearby loch (pronounced "Oog-a-dal"). It's the perfect example of how sweet and savoury notes can work together spectacularly - you'll find Ardbeg's maritime salinity intact here, combined with dried fruit notes imparted by time spent in sherry casks. Kind of like when you mix sweet popcorn and salty popcorn together, it results in something absolutely wonderful.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

    Nose

Multifaceted, notes of peat and little flourishes of dark sugar, freshly ground espresso beans, cereal notes and a most sophisticated tar.

    Palate

Led by sweet, ripe fruit and black forest honey. A good helping of malt. The throne then usurped by a powerful peat and smoked barley.

    Finish

Very long, caramel and malt weave their way through peat smoke and dark sugar and just a hint of fresh espresso coffee before it finally peters out.

    Overall

Such deft balance! How wonderful to sample Ardbeg so beautifully complimented by sherry.

    Wow

BBQ bacon thing going on. A great experience, the bottle disappears pretty quick.

    Work of art

After having the 10yr and 8yr old Ardbeg, it was time to try the Uigeadail after hearing so much good feedback. I can confirm this is an absolute gem of a whisky.. fruity, peaty, full of flavour, well balanced and rich. Add some water, wait 20 mins or so and the flavour opens up into what can only be described as god level whisky. This will always have a place on my shelf. Buy this if you enjoy fine scotch.

    One I will buy again

So I tried this maybe 2013 and didn’t like it as much as I wasn’t acclimatised to peat. However it’s 2021. And now I love it. High abv, no age statement however don’t let that deter you and a nice mix of peat and Sherry. One thing I would say about this is experiment with the water - you can drink it neat and it’s good however I prefer a little. If it takes too much water it tastes just of peat and you loose the Sherry… take my tip … Ant

    Best Ardbeg ever, ever.

This bottle right here is why i got into whisky, taste like a dark storm on the Irish sea, with a sweet lady waiting for you at home. Legendary whisky.
