This stunning expression from Islay's Ardbeg distillery on the Kildalton Coast is named after a nearby loch (pronounced "Oog-a-dal"). It's the perfect example of how sweet and savoury notes can work together spectacularly - you'll find Ardbeg's maritime salinity intact here, combined with dried fruit notes imparted by time spent in sherry casks. Kind of like when you mix sweet popcorn and salty popcorn together, it results in something absolutely wonderful.
Multifaceted, notes of peat and little flourishes of dark sugar, freshly ground espresso beans, cereal notes and a most sophisticated tar.
Led by sweet, ripe fruit and black forest honey. A good helping of malt. The throne then usurped by a powerful peat and smoked barley.
Very long, caramel and malt weave their way through peat smoke and dark sugar and just a hint of fresh espresso coffee before it finally peters out.
Such deft balance! How wonderful to sample Ardbeg so beautifully complimented by sherry.

I've been looking for a whisky that has everything I want in it for a long while and never thought I'd find it. But I think I have now. What a balance. Stunning.
Hands down the best bottle of scotch I ever bought. Turned me into a peat fiend. The smell gets my blood flowing with anticipation. Great complexity, bursting with flavors as soon as it hit your palate. Smoke is not that intense and gives way a myriad of different notes. Pricey in Montreal but worth every penny. First thing I'd save if there was a fire at my place.
I can't wait to get this spirit on the hill at camp this fall! Dark, peaty, honey glazed tar, orange zest and burnt licorice with a smoky highlight of a high quality cigar! Add a wee dash of cool water and enjoy the nose as all drinkers of single malt will come to expect!
I was a little disappointed by this. It reminded me alot of Laphroaig Select, which I don't think is a good thing. None of the richness of Ardbeg 10, either in the nose or taste. Not unpleasant, but nowhere near as enjoyable as the 10.
I have ready the reviews and saw all the awards for Uigeadail and I had to try it. I bought a bottle and was glad I did. I am one of those picky Scotch drinkers that only likes peat and I am not a fan of anything sherry. BUT...this is one amazing Scotch. I had some friends of my wife try this as their first Scotch ever....they absolutely loved the finish.
