A fitting send-off for Ardbeg Traigh Bhan, Batch 7 closes the beloved 19-year-old run. It's matured in oloroso sherry and bourbon casks and bottled at 50.3% ABV, the highest of the series. It keeps the salty, smoky heartbeat of Ardbeg and layers in darker fruit and spice for a grand finale. It has a code like every Traigh Bhan edition: 07 for the seventh batch, 19.01.2006 for the youngest distillation date, 25 for the 2025 release year, and DP for David Pender.
The aroma is powerful and intense, with a rich, smoky aroma of coal dust and tar, which is softened by fresher, invigorating peppermint and eucalyptus, bringing sweetness and a cooling mint. A zesty lemony aroma dominates with a tangy and refreshing sweetness.
The mouthfeel is bursting with citrus fruits like lemon rind and bergamot, and waves of medicinal smoke follow. The influence of the oloroso casks can be seen with the warming spices of ginger and cumin are followed by a drying cocoa powder sensation and espresso coffee.
The finish is long and lasting with salted toffee, charred wood, tar and burning sweet heather and warming spices.
