Single Malt
Ardbeg
Scotland
Each batch of Ardbeg's popular Traigh Bhan (pronounced tri-van) single malt is aged for 19 years in a combo of bourbon and oloroso sherry casks and bottled at 46.2% ABV. Traigh Bhan is a beach on Islay known locally as the Singing Sands, and Ardbeg says it takes inspiration from the white, soft sands juxtaposed against the jagged, volcanic rocks which pierce the sand along the shore.

Smoky, herby, spicy. Buttery mouthful and a long long finish. Agree with the other reviewer would and should have been bottled at higher abv to really unlock some very interesting cask influences. Worth trying if you can, but not essential.
It is at the finish where this whisky delivers the value for money. Don't get me wrong, it is delicious and tasty and keeps all its flavor promises. It's just a shame that it's watered down to 46%. Could have been dominating the field at cask strength. Could have been the undisputed champ. But they chose not to do that.
After leaving half a bottle of this for around six months I was surprised to find that it has improved immeasurably and is now, in my opinion, even better than the 25 Years Old. A phenomenal whisky.
stunning whisky, well integrated flavours and not just smoke and fire... would recommend this one for long walks either on the beach or in the countryside...
I opened it expecting a great whisky all i could smell and taste was the wood smoke. Just like you get at a garden bonfire when you get the smoke in your face.
