Ardbeg Spectacular is the special distillery bottling released for Fèis Ìle 2024. A first for Ardbeg, the single malt Scotch whisky was matured in Port wine casks before it was then married with classic bourbon barrels.

Perfumed and aromatic, with notes of lavender followed by leather, woodsmoke, mint and an almond nuttiness.
Full and oily with a salty menthol freshness and woodsmoke with sweeter notes of toffee, apple crumble and fudge.
Long and lingering with leather, salted caramel and that minty note persisting.

Best ever
As a lover of Port Pipe matured whisky I snapped this up. Sweet on the nose but very dry to taste. Improves slightly with a good splash of water but I don’t detect the complexity as described by the marketeers. Very disappointed. To my taste this is way overpriced. Some you win, some you lose.
