    Ardbeg 10 Year Old

A phenomenal whisky packing powerful peaty deliciousness, Ardbeg 10 Year Old is a favourite of many whisky lovers around the world. Produced on the Kildalton Coast of Islay, this single malt matures for a decade before being bottled without any chill-filtration. If you're after a whisky full of coastal air, smoke and more, this is exactly what you want.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

    Nose

A ridge of vanilla leads to mountain of peat capped with citrus fruits and circled by clouds of sea spray.

    Palate

Sweet vanilla counterbalanced with lemon and lime followed by that surging Ardbeg smoke that we all know and love.

    Finish

Long and glorious; sea salted caramel and beach bonfire smoke.

    Overall

Precise balance, big smoke and non-chill filtered. This is why this is such a famous dram.

    Classic peat with interesting complexity

Wonderful peat (no shortage of that) but still balanced enough and complex to be quite enjoyable. If I’ve had a bourbon and it was too sweet at the time, a dram of this cuts the nonsense and brings back the palate. Very enjoyable.

    Ardbeg 10, lush

I absolutely love this whisky. Can’t put into words myself the complexity that all the other reviews describe, but as I read and drink a lot of it rings true. Whisky drinking just evolves . What you once will dislike you will eventually love. Just enjoy the journey. Don’t jump in the deep end. You have time.

A non-apologetic dram of smoky loveliness

If you like smoky Islay whiskies then this is for you, although I’d be surprised if you hadn’t tried it already. Not got the iodine of Laphroaig and not as complex as Lagavulin 16. I was surprised to find it more smoky than the latter. Citrus on the nose and vanilla in the mouth....at first. Then the peat takes over and dominates, and oh boy does it linger! It’s a lovely dram and will be my go-to for Islay whiskies from now on. If you find yourself taking long country walks in the autumn then this is the whisky to put in your hip flask.

A work of Art in a Glass

My favourite Islay whisky. Sad to see my current bottle almost running dry. Will be re-stocking.

    Richie Williams Jan 20, 2019

One of my favorite. All the way baby.

Nose: Oh, the smoke, the smoke. "I love the intense smell of campfire in the morning." A hint of lemon. Palate: Oily and smooth, just a bit of caramel, long-lasting.
