Here we have the first Artist Edition Highland rye single grain Scotch from Arbikie, a limited release featuring design work from Scottish artist Francis Boag. The mashbill consists of magnifico Scottish rye, zulu Scottish wheat, and concerto Scottish malted barley, and the whisky was matured in charred American oak barrels that previously held Calvados!
Toasted hazelnuts and sweet cider apples, alongside oaken vanilla and a touch of tobacco.
Apple turnover, peppery rye spice and buttered, seeded bread, creamy custard, and biscuty malt.
Warming spices linger with a touch of ginger, leathery oak, and dried apple in tow.
