    Berry Bros. & Rudd

Arbikie 2017 (bottled 2023) (cask 69) - Collective #1: The Pioneers (Berry Bros. & Rudd)

A single grain Scotch whisky here from Arbikie Distillery matured in a single sherry hogshead and bottled up by Berry Bros. & Rudd at 58.3% ABV with no additional colouring or chill-filtration. The distillery was selected to be part of the series Collective #1: The Pioneers due to its use of green power and regenerative farming to grow its own grain, with a world-leading hydrogen generation scheme on the way.

    Tasting Note by The Producer

    Nose

Sweet aromas of Icelandic rye bread, honeyed sponge cake, and cloves open the bouquet with some nutmeg emerging with time.

    Palate

The palate is lively and joyous, showing sweet rye spice, crème brûlée and dark chocolate cookies. It is immensely quaffable.

    Finish

Baking spice and dry rye come in waves over the finish.

    Overall

Scotland isn’t known for its rye whisky but if this dram is anything to go by, it soon will be.
