Annandale Man O’Sword Vintage 2015 - Bourbon Cask (cask 189)
A splendid single cask bottling from the Lowland based Annandale distillery, released as part of its peated Man O’Sword collection. The whisky was distilled in 2015 and matured in a single ex-bourbon cask before being bottled at a hearty cask strength of 61.1% ABV. Glorious stuff – another wonderful expression from Annandale.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Smouldering smoke, vanilla custard creams and a dusting of mixed nuts.
Palate
Wafts of coastal peat smoke mingle with sweet toasted oak, woody caramel, and bursts of baking spice.
Finish
More nutty notes with sugar coated almonds and caramelised pecans, herbal oak char, and smoky salinity.
