From one of India's most famous whisky producers, this smoky single malt is made from barley peated to 24ppm. It’s punchy but still fruity and malty, with the ABV increased after its initial release to 46% to add more weight and texture.
Sweet cure bacon, smoke, malt, sweet peat, touch of caramel.
Soooo fruity! Peat doesn't even get a look-in. Lots of malt, tart.
Medium, peat emerges as the end, fruit teas.
An excellent nose.

I am a whisky lover for last 4 decades. Recently tried ex port pipe peated single malt by Amrut. Very dissapointed with overall aroma, taste and price. Priced at Rs 10 k for 750 ml it was a great let down. There were lot of sediments at the bottom of the bottle, taste was horrible, appearence cloudy and gave me lot of hangover. A big no no if you are planning to buy one.
Wow do I like this! I'm still a whiskey newbie having tried 15-20 brands of Irish and scotch. I grabbed this on a whim and am ever so glad I took a chance. The complexity is very rewarding: vanilla, caramel, oak, fruit, smoke, a little heat, very little ethanol, spice. Just delicious; a journey of flavour. It's honestly one of the best I've tried yet. Sure wish it were more affordable in Quebec but what do you want? At least prices are consistently high here... I'll definitely be looking at this again when I want a single malt in this range.
This is one of the best scotch i ever had. Smooth take off in the beginning and then fantastic consistent smooth through out night. Morning is awesome as if i never had any liquor.
Behind this not to strong, actually quiet shy nose, an explosion of flavor in the mouth. Every single time I have a dram of this Amrut, I roll my eyes and have this feeling of perfection. I could never thought a 50€ bottle could be that good ! Incredible Whisky for the monney. I am not surprised JM gave it a score of 94...
I had a first glass last night, just opened the bottle. The nose is fruity with a gentle peat, a bit like the bowmore 12 yo maybe, but more intense and complex. On the palate, the attack is very fruity and then comes the peat, then a fresh and woody smoke which comes dryer and brings a long and pleasant aftertaste. A very interessting Whisky with multiple layer of aroma and texture very well mixed together.
