    Amrut Peated Single Malt Whisky

From one of India's most famous whisky producers, this smoky single malt is made from barley peated to 24ppm. It’s punchy but still fruity and malty, with the ABV increased after its initial release to 46% to add more weight and texture.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

    Nose

Sweet cure bacon, smoke, malt, sweet peat, touch of caramel.

    Palate

Soooo fruity! Peat doesn't even get a look-in. Lots of malt, tart.

    Finish

Medium, peat emerges as the end, fruit teas.

    Overall

    An excellent nose.

    Love this!

This is a beauty. Simple, delicious dram. The amrut whisky's clearly get lots and lots more flavor at very young age due to aging at higher temperatures than brittish, belgian, etc whisky's. This whisky is so affordable and soo delicious. Nothing bad to say about this. One of the fewer peated whisky's that taste like more than 'just peat' too. Fruity, slightly smoky, peaty. Love.

    superb whiskey

Searched for this whiskey at many malls and liquor shops in banglore at last found one poured it into my glencairn glass and waited for some time to nose nose is excellent taste feels like having cigar and whiskey at a time feels very masculine loved it had it slowly keeps you on high for long time.

    Another masterstroke

Amrut had become extremely consistent in providing easy drinkable whiskys with enormous complexities and this one is no exception, i personally would give it a 9 and spare my 10 for Amrut fusion.

    Try it

Very nice. Would I pay more for it than I would pay for Laphroaig? Not so sure, unless you are Indian and want a conversation piece in your bar. Worth trying, at any rate.
