Adnams Triple Malt Whisky is produced in Southwold using a trio of malted grains - barley, wheat and oats. It's then allowed to mature in new American oak casks for five years before being bottled at 47% ABV. You may know Adnams more for their beer, but they're more than well-accomplished at making excellent spirits...
This expression was previously named Adnams Triple Grain No.2 when it was launched in late 2013 as a three year old whisky. The new name (plus slightly longer maturation and higher ABV) was introduced in mid-2016.
Toasted coconut, white grape, foam banana and apricot.
Chocolate orange, caramelised almond, honey and a kick of white pepper.
Continued chocolatey elements, with a touch of bubblegum and charred oak.

I bought the 200ml sample pack of their three whiskies: Triple Malt, Rye Malt and Single Malt. If you like the taste of TCP, Mouth wash and bleach, you will absolutely love them. I don't, and I will be writing a strongly worded letter to Master of Malt expressing my displeasure for stocking such an abomination to English Whisky making.
Decidedly different from familiar Scotch Whiskey, but none the worse for that. I wouldn’t dispute the tasting notes provided above, but I don’t think they tell the whole story. It has a sharpness and brightness which is not present in Scotch. I liked it so much I am on my second bottle.
A little uninspiring, but will be interesting to see what comes next from Adnams
Treat myself to a bottle of this on holiday this last week - is triple malt just another way of saying blended? Either way, this is delicious smooth and tasty and for once the tasting notes actually reflect the lived experience - I can actually get a whiff of banana, the palate suggests honey and the finish, well 2 out of 3 is good, but I don't get bubblegum or chocolate myself!
First timer myself. Loving it.
