This is the 9th batch of Casg Annamh from Speyside's Aberlour distillery. The name means "rare cask" in Gaelic and this flavourful expression spent its time maturing in a combo of American oak and sherry casks, offering up rich layers of aromatic spice, fruit cake, and dark chocolate.
Milky coffee, flame raisins and plenty of honeyed malt.
Golden Grahams, nectarines, cinnamon and strawberry jam.
Cooking spices, sugary biscuits and red apples.

An excellent value dram which won't disappoint any sherry cask enthusiast.
Delightfully long on the palate with plenty of sherry tones coming through. This was a delight to discover and a keeper for my collection.
