The Casg Annamh series from Aberlour takes its name from the Gaelic for "rare cask", and a trio of casks are used to create the expressions - European oak sherry casks and two types of American oak cask. The result is brimming with toffee and dried fruit, alongside a generous handful of kitchen spices.
Milky coffee, flame raisins and plenty of honeyed malt.
Golden Grahams, nectarines, cinnamon and strawberry jam.
Cooking spices, sugary biscuits and red apples.

Wow
Agreed with the others that this is a fantastic whisky.
Really outstanding sherried whisky. Agree with one of the other reviews that the sherry presence isn’t overwhelming and let’s other spicy notes shine through.
Enjoyed this more than A'bunadh. Whereas A'bunadh is a whisky disguised by sherry, Casg Annamh is a whisky featuring sherry without covering up the other flavours within. That familiar christmas cake and plum pudding comes through, alongside the oakiness of the European casks. This presents some great spices on the finish (almost like Compass Box Spice Tree), something A'bunadh only achieves through a high ABV. Definitely recommended.
Rather good, full flavours and 48%,a bit like 12 yr old Non Chill Filtered 48%.I got a litre at travel retail shop, so a bargain. Aberlour are very impressive distillery!!
