The Casg Annamh series from Aberlour takes its name from the Gaelic for "rare cask", and a trio of casks are used to create the expressions - European oak sherry casks and two types of American oak cask. The result is brimming with toffee and dried fruit, alongside a generous handful of kitchen spices.
Milky coffee, flame raisins and plenty of honeyed malt.
Golden Grahams, nectarines, cinnamon and strawberry jam.
Cooking spices, sugary biscuits and red apples.
Sweet and subtle nose with complex early and late palate and a long, smooth finish. A worthy dram!
Bought this with high hopes, and great anticipation. Nothing like any other Aberlour I'd ever had, and can honestly say, I won't be buying it again. Not a bad whisky as such, just totally unremarkable, bland in comparison to other Aberlour's, with no depth.
this Casg Annamh ... is pretty smooth . it is just.like drinking a congac. I would say that is balance. Honestly , it would be more easier to drink to.compare with Cask Strength. Price.is.friendy
Quite complex. Sherry notes on the nose, lots of malt. Spicy, citrus taste with some sherry, but not to excess. Again, complex and layered. Some vanilla at the end, but not very sweet.
Another typical no age statement whiskey, it's getting boring now. Lacking depth and flavour. It's like drinking a diet whiskey.
