The Casg Annamh series from Aberlour takes its name from the Gaelic for "rare cask", and a trio of casks are used to create the expressions - European oak sherry casks and two types of American oak cask. The result is brimming with toffee and dried fruit, alongside a generous handful of kitchen spices.
Milky coffee, flame raisins and plenty of honeyed malt.
Golden Grahams, nectarines, cinnamon and strawberry jam.
Cooking spices, sugary biscuits and red apples.

A stunning and big tasting mouthful. Smooth and lingering after taste. Now it ranks as my favourite aperitif.
I invited a friend round on his birthday for a quick toast and this bottle had only just arrived. I know it might not tick all the boxes for everyone, but this was the one that captured everything I wanted in a bottle since first buying a bottle. My perfect dram.
At cask strength it requires a little water or a small ice cube to make this whisky come alive in my opinion., but when it does the depth of flavour is truly outstanding!!! I hope future batches are just as delicious.
Very rich in sherry notes on the nose and palate. Followed by a very good spiciness on palate to balance our the sweet tones.
Absolutely exelant whiskey.to me it's as good as the 16 yr old
