Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Caramelised nuts and maple syrup on pancakes, with a slow build of raisin and dried tropical fruit.

Palate: Chocolatey at first, before the dried fruit picks up again from the nose. Subtle woody spices develop underneath – think cinnamon and cassia.

Finish: Dense toffee and treacle, with the final hints of festive spices.

Aberlour Casg Annamh Batch 5 Reviews

Looks like I’ve found my new favourite

This is a gorgeous scotch! Slowly bringing the glass to your nose and a whiff of syrup comes through until a second later, raisins and dried fruit hits you. The taste is treacle and spice and coats your mouth in a creamy warmth that slowly gives way to an almond and nut finish. You couldn’t get much more cozy drinking this nectar even if your drank it wearing a towelling robe and slippers by the open fire......which I am:)
Just lovely stuff!

Top value for a journey of flavour

This is lovely, Not tried the other batches. On the nose its first fresh orange peel, honey then american pancakes covered in dense maple syrup with a side of papaya and peach. Taste: that sweet sourness of the orange and papaya hits the tastebuds first, followed by a spicy, cinnamon like density, nicely balanced and woody on the end, oily coating the whole mouth. Long finish bittersweet spices and orange peel.

This is my first Aberlour, certainly not the last. A very well valued whisky.

Quite the sensational proposition

This is absolutely wonderful stuff. Incredible salted caramel notes, for me. A superb dram, without a doubt.
