It's Aberlour's ever-popular A'Bunadh single malt Scotch whisky! Each batch of this single malt is matured entirely in Spanish oloroso sherry butts, bestowing huge helpings of dried fruit and festive spice notes to the whisky, after which it's bottled up at full-on cask strength with no chill-filtration.
Zesty notes of chocolate-coated orange wheels join sticky ginger loaf and sherried fruits.
Plump sultanas, prunes, cakey spice, and marmalade, with biscuity malt and toffee apple in tow.
Sweet spices and rich oak linger.

Beginner of smells.
Superb flavor. Reminiscent of winter evenings and after-dinner drinks.
Promising deep dark (not that dark) nose, graphite beginnings (why did this come to mind?!) and then steeped in oak balancing fruit, smoothly bites, comes back for more....
Excellent whiskey, if you buy a few different batches you can taste the variations over the years which is quite fun. Overall this whiskey is a spice, sherry and dried fruit bomber. On the nose you get a big hit of sherry and some underlying bitterness. The palate has a dried dark fruit sweetness, strong sherry notes with some coffee bean and nuttiness, maybe candied almond. The finish has some strong lingering nutmeg and allspice flavors that were there all along in addition to a nice sherry note and some bitterness. There is some hint of immature spirit in the early finish and the nose but that is literally the only thing wrong with a near perfect drink.
It is in the top 3 I've ever tasted. Incredible, strong, aromatic, very long finish and a killer effect over all.
