It's Aberlour's ever-popular A'Bunadh single malt Scotch whisky! Each batch of this single malt is matured entirely in Spanish oloroso sherry butts, bestowing huge helpings of dried fruit and festive spice notes to the whisky, after which it's bottled up at full-on cask strength with no chill-filtration.
Zesty notes of chocolate-coated orange wheels join sticky ginger loaf and sherried fruits.
Plump sultanas, prunes, cakey spice, and marmalade, with biscuity malt and toffee apple in tow.
Sweet spices and rich oak linger.

Never EVER add water to whisky, it simply stops being whisky. But definitely do not add it to this. You have an opportunity here to taste whisky in its absolute purest form; straight from the cask into your glass. Solid oak, tobacco, rum soaked cherries and fresh mint on the nose, ferocious pepper and spice on the palate (dark chocolate orange gamely fighting through), salted, smoky caramel on the finish. Incredible for the price.
A bit rough, but opens up nicely with a few drops of water.
a step back to form from Aberlour, this beats 46 and 45 in my mind by a country mile
For 7 Nov review. Don't call this whiskey…it is whisky…no "e". Get it right!
