    Aberlour A'Bunadh

It's Aberlour's ever-popular A'Bunadh single malt Scotch whisky! Each batch of this single malt is matured entirely in Spanish oloroso sherry butts, bestowing huge helpings of dried fruit and festive spice notes to the whisky, after which it's bottled up at full-on cask strength with no chill-filtration.

    Great Whisky!

The alcohol content is a bit too high, but this is a cask strenght. However I love it! Strong character and never disappoints! gp

    Disappointed in the Batch 46

I found the Batch 46 to be unbearably harsh and alcoholic at full cask strength - even when watered down significantly it still gave me a burning bitter aftertaste. And I cannot attribute this just to the alcohol, as I have no issue with Ardbeg Corryvreckan at 57.1% ABV. Perhaps I just got a bad bottle, but certainly my first try of Aberlour a'Bunadh would not make me want to try it again.

    Tic

Purchased this elixir from Master of Malt. The nose, palate, finish and quality of the 47 are all truly sensational. Has a surprising creamy quality which really coats your mouth. As smooth as velvet. Absolutely no water required.

    Highlander

In response to Dan Whinnie...I come from the Highlands of Scotland and have worked in a number of Distilleries over the years..It's perfectly acceptable, in fact encouraged, to add a "splash" of water to a Cask Strength Whisky and this one is no exception..!!!.. Try drinking a neat dram of heavily peated Laphraoig Cask Strength without water and see how you go Dan ??
