It's Aberlour's ever-popular A'Bunadh single malt Scotch whisky! Each batch of this single malt is matured entirely in Spanish oloroso sherry butts, bestowing huge helpings of dried fruit and festive spice notes to the whisky, after which it's bottled up at full-on cask strength with no chill-filtration.
Zesty notes of chocolate-coated orange wheels join sticky ginger loaf and sherried fruits.
Plump sultanas, prunes, cakey spice, and marmalade, with biscuity malt and toffee apple in tow.
Sweet spices and rich oak linger.

I found the nose more difficult than the palate with great complexity of caramel mixed with dates. Once the initial alcohol blows off I could smell this all day!
yes
Surprised for several reasons. Surprised how many people are constantly making remarks about watering it down? Should never do that. At most 2 ice cubes in the drink is more than plenty if you can't handle it neat. This is one of only 4 whisky's I give a 10 to, and the only one in this price range that I rate a 10. You get exceptionally more for your dollar with this special creation, from flavors to strength. Definitely surprised it is not one of the $150+ whisky's. I will admit I was quite rude and went to over a dozen stores simply to purchase 4 bottles. Just to be greedy. Factor in the price and it is my favorite of all. Again, if in the $150+ category, it would be 4th. Very dark amber appearance, a sweet almost raisin/caramel aroma finished by the obvious alcohol strength. Taste is nothing short of what you'd expect. Raisin/cinnamon mixture along with sweetness like caramel, not cream or vanilla, and a smooth luxurious finish mixed with a good kick. Just enough to make you sit back and close your eyes and let it soak in. If you feel you have to add water to it, I suggest you just take small sips so you enjoy the fullness it has to offer.
A beautiful dram from Aberlour! Almost 60% but hides it very well.Very well rounded. One of my firm favourites.
This is probably the best of the recent releases. Every batch of A'Bunadh is somewhat different from one another. I find Batch 31 to be excellent compared to the earlier Batch 29 and the newer Batch 35.
