It's Aberlour's ever-popular A'Bunadh single malt Scotch whisky! Each batch of this single malt is matured entirely in Spanish oloroso sherry butts, bestowing huge helpings of dried fruit and festive spice notes to the whisky, after which it's bottled up at full-on cask strength with no chill-filtration.
Zesty notes of chocolate-coated orange wheels join sticky ginger loaf and sherried fruits.
Plump sultanas, prunes, cakey spice, and marmalade, with biscuity malt and toffee apple in tow.
Sweet spices and rich oak linger.

Really wonderful scotch! A few drops of water really boost the delicious aroma
Picked up rich fruitcake nose before I read reviews, amazing whiskey, gives tastebuds a wonderful workout...mmmmm
I am a bit conflicted about this one but I am inclined to the side that suggests it is continuation of a style, though less than 10/10, not much less. It has a lot in it. It still is sherry inside chocolate inside Christmas with a bit of sulphur...
Excellent batch... Would put this in par with the batch no 47.. The a'bunadh has got to be the best example of NAS whisky in production.. And they have been doing so well for all these years..rest of the distilleries should take note.
I have both the 45 and this 52 and I'd say this is very close to the 45. Which means it's simply fantastic. To me, the flavor profile is somewhat similar to a super-charged Macallan 12 once you bring the ABV down to the mid 40's. At 50+ ABV, you are tasting some strange alternate reality sherry-bomb of almost (operative word almost) to much sherry influence mixed with a nuclear malt. This is not the hyper-complex Glendronach 15 or the Chistmas cake tasty Glendronach 12. It's younger and more raw than any Macallan I've had. It's truly odd (especially how it morphs with water), wonderful and unique and if you love full sherry matured scotch, this needs to be in your cabinet (along with everything else I compared it to).
