It's Aberlour's ever-popular A'Bunadh single malt Scotch whisky! Must say i liked the batch #33 best - but the recent batches arent worse, just a little different. I like it best without water so the intensity isnt suppressed. This is my clear favorite - and ive tried Glenfarclas 25yr and other much more expensive whiskies...
My absolutly favorite. Very soft and smooth with a lot of tastes, even without adding water. Hope that my next aberlour is like this batch.
Wow. You have to take a few glasses out of the bottle before this fully opens up. Where the 53 had spiciness and youthfulness, this is spicy and mature, with a smoothness that doesn't typically go with a cask-strength NAS whisky. I've had batches 46, 47, 49, 50, and 53, and this may be the best. It's sherry impact is dry like a GlenDronach 15, but with the punchiness (high ABV) you expect from an A'Bunadh. Just as I've come to love the sweet, youthful grape of Batch 50, I'm enamored with this Batch 54. How long can Aberlour keep this up? Hopefully, forever.
Tons of character. Nice slow burn aftertaste. Not for the weak of heart!
Bought a bottle at Whiskey Shop in Dufftown in Scotland last week. Enjoying a complex and flavorful Dram now that I'm back in the States. Carmel, and butterscotch are primary flavors. With a touch of water, this cask strength Scotch is a winner!!
