Single Malt
Scotland
Sherry

This six-year-old single malt from Aberlour joins the Darkness collection, meaning you can expect plenty of sherry cask goodness here. This one finished its time maturing in an oloroso sherry octave. The small size of the cask ensures greater interaction between the whisky and the wood, and this single malt is brimming with notes of burnt sugar and cream, sweet spice, and candied nuts.
Burnt brown sugar, toasted marzipan, and blanched almonds, with a touch of mocha beneath.
Rich, dark caramel, crème brulée, and robust, roasty malt build toward hearty baking spice and sticky flapjack.
That burnt sugar from the nose carries all the way through, joined by sweet, dense spice and fruity oatmeal cookies.

This wasn't one of Abelour's best cask whiskies. For taste (and value) I would rate Casg Annamh considerably higher.
