Aberlour is known for producing some of the finest sherry-cask-matured whiskies in Scotland, and this expression is no exception.
Over 18 years of careful aging created this single malt, first in American oak bourbon barrels then Spanish oak oloroso and Pedro Ximinéz sherry butts. The spirit developed a luxurious depth, where notes of raisins, figs, and cinnamon blend seamlessly with a long, honeyed finish. The rich mouthfeel and well-balanced spice make it a dream dram for those who love their whisky bold yet smooth.
Creamy, like melted vanilla ice-cream. Fruity and honeyed.
Fresh juicy apples and oranges before sherry kicks in with supple sultanas and vanilla.
Intricate with chocolate raisins and oily caramel notes.
Fantastic single malt
Great nose and palate. I am a speyside guy and this is probably best I've had.
Fell short of expectation : not much aromas even after adding some water , could have been more full bodied. But definitely melting in mouth & long butter scotch finish. Very delectable & fruity. This double casking is sure confusing on palate & nose !
The creamyness is amazing. The top non-islay whisky I have ever tasted.
i've been looking for a high quality, drink-able malt for some time. caramel and spice - simply excellent. thoroughly recommended - have ordered another bottle.
