The fantastic and always popular Aberlour 12 Year Old, matured in both traditional oak and sherry casks. This double cask maturation brings rich depth and balance to the crisp, citrus character at its core, with layers of honeyed fruit and sweet spice.
Soft and rounded with fruity notes of red apple.
A fine sherried character, fruity aromas balanced with rich chocolate.
Warm and lingering. Sweet and spicy.

“Took a bit of a punt buying this as there were no reviews, and wow, did i get lucky :) I finished the bottle in a couple of weeks (which is almost unheard of for me). I'd compare it to the Balvenie Doublewood 17 year old... which is still my favorite... but i'm buying another bottle of this one now”

Really rather good. Warming aroma, satisfying, lasting taste.
Just got into whisky. Started with NAS and budget stuff. Decided this evening to crack open this bottle, my first aged bottling. I don't know the terms how to describe whisky but I do know it was tasty. Fruity and sweet. Some folk may dislike it but its my new favourite. 4.5 stars as I'm sure my palate will experience even better once I move up the price ranges.
It has body, smooth, sweet in a fruitcake sort of way, has some lightness to it, not a great deal going on on the tongue, not much mouth-feel, oak citrus finish. Something like a smoother, oakier version of Spanish brandy, particularly that Soberano stuff. Nice enough but that's it. Tastes almost healthy; like whisky for growing children.
Nose: Xmas currant cake...so rich. Palate: Sharp molasses. After: Meh.
