Matured in a combination of ex-bourbon and sherry casks, this is an older bottling of 10-year-old single malt from Aberlour. A perennial favourite, typical of the modern Speyside style and thoroughly approachable. Such is its popularity that this bottling has been exported to over fifty countries.
This bottle was part of a private collection - if you'd like more detailed photos just get in touch!
Sweet and full. Sherried raisins, hints of toffee and a pleasant nuttiness.
Quite full-bodied, spicy rich fruitcake, toffee notes and a creamy malty-feel and the vaguest whisper of something akin to synthetic banana.
Caramel and honey, the malt still evident and the sweet spices still linger.
Lovely and rich.

That's what this tastes like, why do distillers increasingly make all their malts taste like sherry, if I wanted Bristol Cream I would go and buy some! Maybe the fire peat and smoke old whisky taste is too much for the international crowd this whisky is aimed at. Pernod Ricard aim mostly to sell in France and Asia, and they cater to them.
Sorry to state the obvious, but re: the reviewer below - they did tell you something about the dram - It tastes of synthetic banana! Too bad if your taste receptor proteome is different and can't detect it.
I find the 10 year old to be a little bland. Though, I have been drinking the 16 and 18 which are both supreme malts, so I may just be comparing. I would recommend the 12 over this.
What on earth is meant by ' something akin to synthetic banana?!! Just what is a synthetic banana? Why can't reviewers stay grounded in reality? Tell me something about the whisky, for --- sake!
with nice nutty notes and mellow sweetness. a must try for any whisky drinker.
