Matured in a combination of ex-bourbon and sherry casks, this is an older bottling of 10-year-old single malt from Aberlour. A perennial favourite, typical of the modern Speyside style and thoroughly approachable. Such is its popularity that this bottling has been exported to over fifty countries.

Sweet and full. Sherried raisins, hints of toffee and a pleasant nuttiness.
Quite full-bodied, spicy rich fruitcake, toffee notes and a creamy malty-feel and the vaguest whisper of something akin to synthetic banana.
Caramel and honey, the malt still evident and the sweet spices still linger.
Lovely and rich.

The nose on this is complex and very interesting, but for some reason there was an off-note in the palate that didn't do it for me at all. I expected great things from this based on recommendations, but it was a bit disappointing in the end.
Drinking this right now and was curious if anyone else noticed the banana after taste, these tasting notes appeared in google :) This is definitely a great buy for the price, a bit fruitier than I was expecting but it was a pleasant surprise.
I'm now on my second bottle and it's become my new go-to whisky, lovely to drink and not so expensive to worry about ordering more or saving it for a special occasion.
Exceptionally young, but delivers a punch line. For a 10 YO, it displays depth, complexity and character. Great value too.
This is a great speysider, it is smooth and has a distinct character to it which sets it apart. The distillery is a wonderful place to go too if you get the chance. If you want a complex Aberlour offering, try the A'bunadh or better still the 16yo. True this one is not the most complex whisky and I am an islay fan myself, but as a great drink in general it is right up there and the circa £15 price tag you can pick it up for nowadays makes it totally worth every penny.
