Matured in a combination of ex-bourbon and sherry casks, this is an older bottling of 10-year-old single malt from Aberlour. A perennial favourite, typical of the modern Speyside style and thoroughly approachable. Such is its popularity that this bottling has been exported to over fifty countries.
This bottle was part of a private collection - if you'd like more detailed photos just get in touch!
Sweet and full. Sherried raisins, hints of toffee and a pleasant nuttiness.
Quite full-bodied, spicy rich fruitcake, toffee notes and a creamy malty-feel and the vaguest whisper of something akin to synthetic banana.
Caramel and honey, the malt still evident and the sweet spices still linger.
Lovely and rich.

...stuff to be sure.....as good as it gets at this age and price.Quite Bourbon like in the finish, which I like ......You will not be disappointed ...Struth
A dram to enjoy at any time
One of the best 10 year olds around, and at anywhere around £20/£25 pounds is worth a dabble....would not break my heart if I had to drink this all day.
Sorry but the aftertaste from this whisky is nothing short of disgusting. This is the only whisky I've tasted that I would never buy or drink again. Strange chemical like taste. Maybe it was a bad bottle but never again. Such a disappointment as I love speyside malts. Lucky to get a rating of 1.
I was really keen to try this, given its great value and the great reviews, but I was a bit disappointed. Nothing wrong with the nose - it's excellent, suggesting a sweet, smooth, full-bodied dram. But the palate was a let-down for me - there's an off note I don't quite agree with. Overall it seems a bit sharp, which is why I don't get why people call it 'smooth'. Maybe I need to get another bottle in case it was a bad batch.
