Matured in a combination of ex-bourbon and sherry casks, this is an older bottling of 10-year-old single malt from Aberlour. A perennial favourite, typical of the modern Speyside style and thoroughly approachable. Such is its popularity that this bottling has been exported to over fifty countries.
This bottle was part of a private collection - if you'd like more detailed photos just get in touch!
Sweet and full. Sherried raisins, hints of toffee and a pleasant nuttiness.
Quite full-bodied, spicy rich fruitcake, toffee notes and a creamy malty-feel and the vaguest whisper of something akin to synthetic banana.
Caramel and honey, the malt still evident and the sweet spices still linger.
Lovely and rich.

This is my first Single Malt bottle. I am wine drinker particularly Pinot Noir I have friends that convince me to try scotch and so far it's good. Though at first I really feel that sting sensation on your chest but after a couple shot it got a little better. This is sort of training scotch for me. I also bought the Macallan 12. Any advice much appreciated.
This is my first bottle of scotch and so far it's good for me after dinner. Tonight I had sushi and it's a good pairing. I still struggle on my first sip but after a couple it's really good so far. I also bought a 12 year Macallan this is sort of my training on Scotch drinking.
This is by far my favourite 10 year old whisky. The smoothness of it really makes it seem much older. It's my go to bottle when all out of Lagavulin.
I'll give it three stars. Perhaps the next bottle might get 4.
I'm not a great fan of Aberlour 10 year old malt. I wouldnt knock it because others clearly enjoy it more than me. It seems a bit on the harsh side and perhaps a little bitter, too. Perhaps it lacks subtlety? But others rate it highly, so perhaps it's just the state of my palate at present and I'm missing something. I have an unopened bottle - perhaps I'll leave it for a month or two and see how it goes at Christmas!
