A classic Highland dram, Aberfeldy 12 Year Old single malt whisky is a creamy, sweet and gently smoky example of what the region produces. Bolstered by plenty of Aberfeldy's signature honeyed fruit character, this makes for a superbly laid-back sipper. The label comes with a rather handsome black and rose-gold colour palate to match the rich, malty, honeyed flavour profile.
Aberfeldy Golden Hot Toddy recipe:
- 50ml of Aberfeldy 12 Year Old
- 1/2 shot of local honey
- 1/2 shot of lemon juice
Combine the above ingredients in a mug and top up with hot water. Garnish with lemon, a cinnamon stick, and some star anise to spread the cheer of this cosy classic.
Creamy. Some sherried fruit with a trailing hint of smoke. Honeyed prunes, custard, and espresso beans.
Sweet, malty, with gentle peat and a mellow, silky texture. Vanilla fudge, peaches and cream, and subtle toasted oak follow.
Ginger, malt, nutty nougat, and maybe a little grapefruit zest.
£6.98 - £73.50
Nose: Rich cake, Xmas spices. Palate: Syrupy spiced cake. Winter matching. After: The sherry sits forward of the wood and this distance brings incredible balance to the spirit.
Not a bad drop. Quite moorish, I’d buy it again. Good value
Nice everyday dram. Color light straw. Nose bit of green apple and fleeting honeydew. Light bodied, tinge of peat. Palate with pleasant medium light finish. Good especially on spring/summer or warmer days when you feel something light. Not muscular enough for cool or cold winter days unless you live in Los Angeles. It is inexpensive and does punch above its weight for the price. I believe I paid like 38.00 plus tax. It is a good starter dram for whisky. Lacks complex finish or mouth feel but good price. You can't appreciate the great whiskies unless you drink a lot of lesser ones. They all have their place. When I drink hospital coffee (if you can call it that) I remind myself how much I enjoy a freshly pulled triple expresso on my off days. It is like driving the crappy car in high school that increases your appreciation for a well made car you get at middle age. Slainte! LML
Love it . Really smooth with a full flavour throughout .no harshness , not particularly smokey or peaty . A regular fave
Just received a bottle for my 70th.birthday, thank you dear, finding it most enjoyable, just enough peat for my taste And is very smooth, I'm going to pour another wee dram right now.
