A classic Highland dram, Aberfeldy 12 Year Old single malt whisky is a creamy, sweet and gently smoky example of what the region produces. Bolstered by plenty of Aberfeldy's signature honeyed fruit character, this makes for a superbly laid-back sipper. The label comes with a rather handsome black and rose-gold colour palate to match the rich, malty, honeyed flavour profile.
Aberfeldy Golden Hot Toddy recipe:
- 50ml of Aberfeldy 12 Year Old
- 1/2 shot of local honey
- 1/2 shot of lemon juice
Combine the above ingredients in a mug and top up with hot water. Garnish with lemon, a cinnamon stick, and some star anise to spread the cheer of this cosy classic.

Reviews for Aberfeldy 12 Year Old
Great new discovery
Usually a Glenmorangie/McCallan guy, so I found this 12 yo on sale for 39.00$ so I thought let's do this! I was greatly impressed it was better than expected very impressed with it's palate, smoothness and aftertaste, not as good as the "McCallan" but right up there with Glenlivet, Talisker, Ardberg. I think it was a great discovery would buy again.

Inexpensive and Enjoyable
My goal is to try every single-malt scotch that I can afford, and while I have a long way to go, I've had some nice variety in the bottles I've tasted. My favorites so far have been from the smoky end of the spectrum, such as the 10yr bottlings of Laphroaig, Ardbeg, and Talisker.
I've also enjoyed Glenmorangie 10, several varieties of The Glen Livet, Glenfiddich 12, and Glen Moray 12.
When I picked this up today, I was eager to taste it as usual, but there was some other shopping to do before I was able to get home and crack the bottle open. While following my wife around the supermarket, I was on my phone reading these reviews, and getting nervous.
While I enjoy the peated offerings as much as anyone, there is room in the whisky world for bottles like this. It's inexpensive and unassuming, but it's still an enjoyable dram, and I'll keep it around.

Understated excellence
I don't think 12 year old whiskies get much better than this. Bear in mind that this is a very "clean" dram; no massive peat or port casks to hide behind. This is just straightforward, very well made single malt.
Aberfeldy 12 is sweet, but not overly so, smooth but not artificially so, with a lovely mouthfeel. You can still very much taste the barley; it's not trying to be anything else.
I like it very much.

One of the Best
Took a bottle to Canada to visit family there, I think I converted a lot of Canadians, they loved it, so do I.

Great single malt
It's feels like home, not my first single malt. Hope not the last
It is great on first nose . Notes of caramel , fruits, cinnamon, not much smoke. Taste sweet. Vainilla, Caramel
..with a great end long lasting taste at the end. Great for good day after a hard day work.
