    Product details

    Aberfeldy 12 Year Old

A classic Highland dram, Aberfeldy 12 Year Old single malt whisky is a creamy, sweet and gently smoky example of what the region produces. Bolstered by plenty of Aberfeldy's signature honeyed fruit character, this makes for a superbly laid-back sipper. The label comes with a rather handsome black and rose-gold colour palate to match the rich, malty, honeyed flavour profile.

    Aberfeldy Golden Hot Toddy recipe:

    - 50ml of Aberfeldy 12 Year Old

    - 1/2 shot of local honey

    - 1/2 shot of lemon juice

Combine the above ingredients in a mug and top up with hot water. Garnish with lemon, a cinnamon stick, and some star anise to spread the cheer of this cosy classic.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

    Nose

Creamy. Some sherried fruit with a trailing hint of smoke. Honeyed prunes, custard, and espresso beans.

    Palate

Sweet, malty, with gentle peat and a mellow, silky texture. Vanilla fudge, peaches and cream, and subtle toasted oak follow.

    Finish

Ginger, malt, nutty nougat, and maybe a little grapefruit zest.

Reviews for Aberfeldy 12 Year Old

    Evil poison

I bought a bottle of "self bottled" 15 year old at a cost of £80.00p last month. It is 56.5 proof. I tried a small glas straight from the bottle and nearly choked. It tasted worse than petrol. I then thought I would try another with an equal amount of tap water added. I just managed to drink it but ended up with a pounding sore head. The rest of the bottle I poured down the sink.

    Smooth!

Good taste, light bodied, didn't pick up any peat but maybe that's just me. Great value for the money. A very good scotch for the price you are paying but nothing remarkable about it!

    Aberfeldy Malts

Like most of the world's malt distilleries Aberfeldy sell some expensive expressions. For example I have a 15 year old Flora & Fauna. I find the taste, palate and finish of the 'standard' Aberfeldy 12 year old to be very agreeable for every day whisky drinking, It is, to me, far better value than many other brands.

    Delicious

    Best Whisky for the money!

    Easy drinking scotch

Cream, slightly sweet, malt with some fruit.. Could not detect any peat, but perhaps was because tasted it right after Lagavulin 16 :)
