Named after the North Sea fog that blankets the Arbikie farm and distillery from time to time, Haar Wheat Vodka is a clear example of the ‘field-to-bottle’ approach the Stirling family, owners of Arbikie, endeavour to maintain.
Utilising their expertise on the family farm that has been worked since 1660 (and probably before), it's distilled using Zulu Wheat, grown only on the Black Laws fields.
Much like Arbikie’s award-winning Potato Vodka before it, this is a complex and seriously impressive release, and a demonstration of how good vodka can be.
Aromas of thyme honey, pecan and freshly baked bread are present.
A grainy, sweet palate filled with buttery notes of vanilla custard, prickles of drying black pepper, a leafy earthiness and a helping of spicy wheat.
The finish is soft, clean and delicately warm.
Beautifully balanced and delicous.
Excellent aftertaste and gives a mighty kick. Well worth trying.
I've only got in to vodka recently but this is a beautiful vodka neat even by my inexperienced standards.
A stunning vodka by the team at Arbikie. The caramel notes on the nose is incredible. Beautiful in an espresso martini and makes the best vodka coke I have ever tasted.
