Volcan Tequila is produced with a blend of some of the finest Blue Weber agave that Mexico has to offer! Sourced from the highlands and lowlands of Jalisco, the agave grows in the shadow of the Tequila volcano, which erupted 200,000 years ago. To this day, the volcanic ash enriches the soil, making it ideal for agave growing. De Mi Tierra Tequila Blanco is brimming with complexity and earthy mineral notes – great for sipping, and should make a mean Margarita too!
Fresh, herbaceous, and slightly earthy notes of roasted agave are at the core of the nose, joined by eucalyptus and summer flowers. Lime peel, pink grapefruit, cherry, and cooked apple add citrus and fruity elements alongside some flinty minerality and petrichor. A little cinnamon and black pepper bring aromatic spice.
Charred agave once again takes centre stage bringing sweet, slightly smoky, and vegetal notes. A rich and silk texture carries plenty more orchard fruit and floral elements as well as touches of sea salt and honeyed sweetness.
The clean, crisp agave lingers.
Tried this next to an Ocho black bottle and thought this was friendlier, more full-bodied, and still very close to a native mezcal without the burnt taste.
