El Sueño Tequila Gold is the result of five generations' Tequila producing know-how. Such traditional knowledge of Tequila production has been coupled with a more modern focus on sustainability, affordability and of course, quality. Optimally rested in oak barrels in Jalisco, Mexico, the resulting Tequila is wonderfully rich and fruity.
Subtle floral notes, tropical flavours of pineapple, light caramel and a pinch of pepper.
For a mixto this is actually pretty good but for the same price you could get a bottle of El Jimador Reposado (similar taste) which for all its faults is simply a better spirit. This is thin and watery by comparison and the nose is 90% ethanol. I wanted to be pleasantly surprised and say nice things but it is what is is.
I have been buying their silver tequila but it does sell out a fair bit so have the gold a go based on the other reviews. Will be buying this from now on as well. Same fresh agave hit but with a nice oaky finish.
I can’t quite believe the price of this stuff, it’s an absolute steal. I 100% recommend this tequila, fantastic by itself or with soda and lime. Refreshing and amazingly smooth!
Like the other review says, I have been drinking their silver tequila but it seems to sell out fast on master of malt so I thought I’d try the gold as it’s at the same price point. It is also a great tequila. Similar in flavour and finish with a slightly increased mouth feel and notes of oak and butter. I proudly have both on the home bar now ?
I had their silver tequila so wanted to try the gold. It’s aged in oak (according to the bottle) and it definitely brings a slightly more complex finish with sweeter notes. Quiet frankly, it’s really good stuff. Really impressed with both tequilas from El Sueno for less than 20 quid. Nothing else comes close in the price range, and I’ve tried a lot.
