Rye from Yellow Rose over in Houston, Texas, which is in fact Houston's very first legal whiskey distillery. Made with 95% rye and bottled at 45% ABV, we reckon this could be a very strong contender for a Rye Old Fashioned.
A good helping of caramel, with creamy vanilla, melted brown sugar and herbier notes of fresh mint and pine.
Refreshing menthol alongside a touch of peppery heat, runny honey, red apple skin and a pinch of tobacco.
Medium finish with a gentle fragrant spice and a hint of oak.

This was probably the introduction into American whiskeys for me. Definitely the first rye whiskey I tried and I think they reviews were on point. Vanilla nose, honey on the palate and spicy finish. It was great find for the price in Australia (about $80 at the time), but I think the price has gone up a bit since.
Very good for a 74$ rye whiskey
