From Brooklyn, NYC, comes this Rye Mash spirit produced by Widow Jane aged in bourbon barrels with added new oak staves! Tasty sipping over ice, and suitable for enjoying in cocktails too...
Also, as you can see from the sediment in the bottle, it is most definitely not chill-filtered.
Caramel, black pepper and waves of classic rye warmth. Hints of fresh fruit and a touch of dried earth.

A nice little drop. Toasty spice and a nice sweeteness to finish. Replace the bourbon in an old fashioned and was not dissapointed. Would make a good manhattan also methinks...
Now I'll preface this by saying I'm not an expert on rye whiskies. I've had a few, my favourite being Bulleit, so take my opinion for what it's worth - this is a very nice rye whisky. Both creamy and spicy with a nice bite at the end, more vanilla than I'd expect which isn't unpleasant, very enjoyable to sip neat - but there's just no getting past that price. For the same price I can get two bottles of Bulleit or an excellent peated scotch. The taste is there, just a bit too expensive for me.
American Oak spices are toned down to great effect while maintaining a very decent ABV and surprising mildly smooth and creamy finish.
Came across widow Jane a few years ago and have been a massive fan ever since. This is a great Rye Mash definitely worth a try
