Tanqueray Alcohol Free 0.0% features the same blend of botanicals used in Tanqueray London Dry Gin, but doesn't feature the alcohol! Produced using a secret distillation process, it manages to capture of junipery deliciousness of the spirit, meaning you can enjoy some marvellous drinks even if you're cutting back on alcohol.
Oily juniper, liquorice, lemon zest, pine.
I can only assume that the people who are rating this positively have 90%+ tonic in their G&T. For those of us who actually like to taste the gin and the botanicals, this is truly revolting. I can only imagine that this is what lemon bathroom cleaner tastes like. You’re better off just drinking tonic water with a slice in it.
When you just want to join in with a g&t and can’t drink alcohol, this is delicious. There is a lovely juniper flavour. I couldn’t find a supplier in Australia.
Due to my medication I’m now unable to drink alcohol, but I do love a g&t, this is a great alternative for me especially with a good tonic water. I definitely feel like I’m partying even if I’m not. For me personally it a nice blend and a very pleasant taste on the palette. Really happy too have discovered none alcohol gin.
If this is what no alcohol gin is like then I'm sticking to the real thing. If I post its usually to say how good a product is. Not this time, awful soapy floralish artificial taste. Quite disgusting Minus stars appropriate here in my view
As a fan of gin I usually have 5 or 6 brands open at any one time and when ever I get a new one I do a blind tasting with several existing and the new one to see where it ranks - small shot of each poured over one ice cube. To give this zero gin a fair chance I didn't do the comparison and tried to keep an open mind when tasting for the first time. First impression is the herby, junipery element - which is good. Unfortunately I didn't like the following sweetness, far too sweet for my taste. And, as some of the other reviews have mentioned, it seems an artificial sweetness rather than good old sugar. The sweetness is, for me, the overpowering impression and left me grasping for ideas as to what a good mix would be. The only thing I could think of was Campari - but didn't try as that defeats the dry January target. It might work in a dry vermouth Negroni, as it wouldn't need the sweetness of the red vermouth. I ended up drinking over ice with orange juice and was quite pleasant when all the drink had gone and the ice melted in the empty glass giving the water a lightly fragranced edge with that first impression lingering. So to sum up - disappointed, sweet, not to my taste and overpriced (considering its 0% alcohol and the alcohol is what attracts the Duty - any HMRC people out there?). I will finish it but probably won't buy again, unless I find something amazing to mix it with.
